We focus on clear communication and reliable execution for every client. You can find more information about our specific capabilities on our drones page.\n\n

What the area looks like from the air

\nThe landscape around Baraboo is defined by the dramatic quartzite bluffs of the Baraboo Range and the winding paths of the Wisconsin River. From the air, the contrast between the rugged natural terrain and the structured agricultural fields provides a compelling visual backdrop for any production. A drone pilot in Baraboo must be comfortable navigating these elevation changes and managing the wind conditions that often come with the bluffs.\n\nIn addition to the natural features, the area includes significant landmarks like the Circus World Museum and various historic sites that offer unique architectural perspectives. We also fly over industrial sites, forest preserves, and recreational areas like Devil's Lake. Our crew is experienced in capturing these diverse environments while maintaining a safe distance from public gatherings and sensitive habitats. Why Baraboo, Wisconsin is a practical place to film and produce

\nBaraboo offers a unique mix of environments that are highly accessible for production crews. Its location along Highway 12 provides a direct link to nearby cities like Wisconsin Dells, Reedsburg, and Sauk City, making it easy to move equipment and personnel between locations. This connectivity is a major advantage for any drone operator in Baraboo who needs to manage multiple sites in a single day.\n\nThe local economy is supported by a variety of sectors, including specialized manufacturing, healthcare, and a significant tourism industry. These industries often require drone cinematography for marketing materials, site inspections, or facility documentation. Having a variety of industrial and commercial backdrops in close proximity simplifies the logistics of a shoot.\n\nWhen it comes to film production resources in Baraboo, the city provides a supportive environment with straightforward permitting processes for many areas. The presence of large recreational spaces and industrial zones means there are often clear staging areas for ground crews and equipment. This makes it easier to manage safety perimeters and flight paths without interfering with daily business operations.\n\nTiming windows in this part of Wisconsin are generally manageable, though we always account for the seasonal shifts that can affect lighting and weather. The local infrastructure supports easy access to power and supplies, which is essential for long production days. We find that the regional mix of historic architecture and modern facilities provides ample choices for different visual styles.\n\nWe also provide specialized services like 360 video to help capture the full context of a location. By choosing a location with diverse scenery and reliable access, production teams can maximize their time on site. Baraboo remains a consistent choice for those needing a professional setting with minimal logistical friction.

Gear and options for drone services in Baraboo, Wisconsin

\n

What we bring and when it is used

\nFor most standard commercial shoots, we utilize the DJI Mavic 3 Cine or the DJI Mavic 4 Pro. These compact platforms allow for quick deployment and high quality output, making them ideal for capturing real estate or documenting construction progress. They are the workhorse tools for many commercial drone services in Baraboo where agility is required.\n\nWhen a project demands cinema-grade optics and a dual-operator setup, we deploy the DJI Inspire 3. This aircraft provides the control and image quality needed for high end commercial work and narrative projects. It is often the preferred choice for drone equipment in Baraboo when the final deliverable needs to match ground-based cinema cameras.\n\nOur Freefly Alta X heavy lift drone is available for projects that require carrying larger camera packages, such as an Alexa Mini or RED. This platform is essential for high production value shoots where specific lenses or sensors are non-negotiable. You can see more about this on our heavy lift drone page.\n\nFor dynamic, high speed shots or tight indoor maneuvers, we use FPV drones and cinewhoop drones. These aircraft offer a perspective that traditional drones cannot replicate, moving through gaps or chasing fast subjects with precision. We have more details on these specialized flights at our FPV drone link.\n\nIf the project needs live visuals, we can deliver a drone feed for streaming and broadcast environments. This is particularly useful for events or real-time monitoring where immediate visual feedback is necessary for the production team or the audience.\n\nIn situations where a drone might not be the right fit, we utilize a cable cam or a motion control robot. The cablecam is perfect for repeatable shots over crowds or in areas with flight restrictions. These tools ensure we can get the camera into the right position regardless of the environment.\n\nEvery piece of gear is chosen based on the specific needs of the shot list and the constraints of the location. We maintain our fleet to high standards to ensure reliability on every shoot day. If you have specific technical requirements, feel free to ask for a quote to see how we can help.

How a drone pilot and crew plan shoots in Baraboo, Wisconsin

\n

What happens before the first flight

\nEvery project begins with a detailed intake process where we gather information about the location, the desired shots, and any site-specific constraints. We look at the proximity to nearby cities like Portage and Reedsburg to plan travel and logistics. Understanding the final use of the footage helps us determine which aircraft and crew size will be most effective.\n\nSite access is a critical part of the planning phase, especially when working near public landmarks or private industrial facilities. We coordinate with property owners and local authorities to secure the necessary permissions for takeoff and landing zones. A drone company in Baraboo must be diligent about these details to avoid interruptions during the shoot.\n\nAirspace checks are performed well in advance using official FAA tools to identify any restrictions or required authorizations. Baraboo is served by the Baraboo-Wisconsin Dells Airport (DLL), and we manage the necessary LAANC approvals or waivers for the specific flight area. This ensures that every drone pilot in Baraboo on our team is operating legally and safely.\n\nSafety boundaries are established on site to protect the crew and the public during flight operations. We use visual observers when necessary to maintain a clear line of sight and monitor for any hazards. This disciplined approach allows the creative team to focus on the visuals while we handle the technical safety aspects.\n\nTiming windows are selected based on the position of the sun and the typical weather patterns of the region. We often use the major corridors like Highway 12 for easy access to different parts of the county, ensuring we can be on site when the light is best. We also account for the nearest major metro access from Madison for any specialized crew or equipment needs.\n\nRates often run $1,000 to $15,000, and the details of the shot list and delivery plan decide where you land. This range covers everything from a single pilot with a small drone to a full crew with heavy lift aircraft and live broadcast capabilities. FULL-SPECTRUM CAPABILITIES

Film & Television

Long-form production is the core of what we do. We've provided aerial units for feature films, limited series, episodic television, and documentary projects for major studios and streaming platforms. We integrate into your existing camera department and work directly with your DP. Every flight is planned, rehearsed, and executed with the same precision you expect from your ground crew.

Live Events & Broadcasts

Live is live. There's no second take. We provide real-time aerial video for concerts, sporting events, corporate events, and broadcast productions. Our systems deliver HD and 4K feeds directly to your production switcher with sub-100ms latency. We've covered events from 200-person gatherings to 80,000-seat stadium shows.

Commercials & Branded

Fast turnarounds, tight schedules, and clients watching monitors. We get it. Our drone crew has worked on national spots, regional campaigns, product launches, and branded content for agencies and in-house teams across the country. We show up prepared, move quickly, and deliver exactly what was storyboarded.

FPV Drone Work

FPV changes what's possible. Our custom-built FPV drones carry cinema cameras including the RED Komodo and fly through spaces that traditional drones simply can't reach. Through doorways, alongside vehicles, diving off structures, orbiting talent at speed. The footage intercuts with your A-cam because we're flying the same sensor and color science.

Agency & Creative Work

We work with creative agencies, production houses, and marketing teams who need aerial content for campaigns, social, web, and broadcast. If you've got a concept that involves a camera in the air, we can help figure out the best way to execute it.

We operate multiple drone platforms because no single aircraft is right for every job. Matching the right drone to the right shot is part of what we do.

DJI Inspire 3

Our primary platform for cinematic aerial work. Full-frame Zenmuse X9 sensor shooting 8K CinemaDNG RAW with interchangeable DL-mount lenses. Dual-operator control so one person flies while a dedicated camera operator frames the shot. This is the aircraft we reach for on the majority of film and television productions.

Heavy Lift Drones

When the shot requires a specific cinema camera in the air, we bring the heavy lift. Our platforms carry payloads up to 35 pounds, which means ARRI Alexa Mini, RED V-Raptor, Sony Venice, and full lens kits. Top-mount or bottom-mount gimbal options. If your DP wants the same camera in the air that they're shooting on the ground, this is how we do it.

FPV Drones

Custom-built for each job. Our FPV rigs carry RED Komodo and Blackmagic cameras and fly at speeds over 90 mph. Every build is purpose-designed for the specific shot, venue, and camera package. These aren't toy quads. They're cinema tools built to produce footage that matches your primary camera.

Mavic 3 Cine & Mavic 4 Pro

Compact platforms for scout work, B-cam angles, and fast deployment. The Mavic 3 Cine shoots Apple ProRes 422 HQ on its built-in Hasselblad camera with 46 minutes of flight time. We use these when speed and portability matter more than a large camera package.

Cable Cam & Tero

Not everything needs to fly. Our cable cam systems run cinema cameras on suspended cables for perfectly repeatable moves, and the Tero ground vehicle delivers tracking shots at speed across any terrain. No FAA restrictions, no battery limits.

WHY THE INDUSTRY'S BEST CHOOSE US

We don't just fly drones. We integrate into your production as collaborative cinematographers who happen to work from the sky. We've been doing this since 2011. That's over a decade of actual production work, not hobbyist flying.

01

IN Atmosphere we Trust

In that time, we've worked on projects for Marvel, Disney+, HBO, Apple TV+, Netflix, Paramount, NASA, National Geographic, and hundreds of other productions. We've flown on every type of set, in every kind of weather, in every kind of location. We carry full commercial insurance, every pilot holds current FAA Part 107 certification, and we handle all airspace authorizations so your production team doesn't have to think about it.

02

As the drone pilot flies

We fly across the entire United States with crews based in New Orleans, Atlanta, Miami, Austin, Los Angeles, and New York.  There is no place we cannot work in. We have a large crew list that works all the time.

03

Seamless On-Set Integration

What you won't get from us is excuses, unnecessary upsells, or a crew that doesn't understand how a film set works. We view like to have the right tool for the job, not overkill. We show up knowing the call sheet, ready to integrate into your workflow, and we stay until the shot is in the can.
