Cinematographers Who Fly, Not Pilots Who Shoot

Drone services in Cheyenne, Wyoming\n\nCheyenne serves as a major hub for the region, sitting at the junction of Interstate 80 and Interstate 25. This location makes it a central point for logistics and energy projects throughout Laramie County. We provide drone services in Cheyenne for a variety of industrial and commercial applications.\n\nWorking in this part of Wyoming requires an understanding of the open terrain and the specific needs of the state capital. Our crew is familiar with the coordination required for projects near government facilities and transportation centers. Whether the project is in the city center or the surrounding plains, we bring the right tools for the job.\n\nWe focus on delivering high quality visuals while maintaining strict safety standards. You can find more information about our drone options or request a project quote online. Each flight is planned to meet the specific requirements of the site and the production goals.\n\n

What the area looks like from the air

\n\nThe landscape around Cheyenne features wide open prairies and significant industrial infrastructure. From the air, the massive rail yards and the sprawling wind farms define the horizon. The mix of historic architecture downtown and modern energy facilities provides a diverse range of subjects for a drone pilot in Cheyenne.\n\nAerial views also highlight the meeting point of major rail lines and highways that drive the local economy. Nearby areas like Laramie and Casper share this high plains environment, where the scale of the land is best captured from above. Using drone services in Cheyenne allows for a perspective that shows the true scope of these large scale operations and regional landmarks.

Why Cheyenne, Wyoming is a practical place to film and produce

Cheyenne offers a unique set of advantages for production teams, particularly those focused on the energy and transportation sectors. The presence of major wind energy projects and the oil and gas industry creates a steady demand for drone cinematography. Having a reliable drone operator in Cheyenne helps companies document large scale infrastructure and progress over time.

The city is also the seat of state government, which brings a different set of production needs compared to other regional hubs. Film production resources in Cheyenne are supported by a community used to hosting various events and industrial activities. This familiarity makes it easier to coordinate the logistics of a shoot, from finding staging areas to managing local site access.

Proximity to the Colorado border and the Front Range means that crews can easily reach Cheyenne from larger metro areas like Fort Collins or Denver. This accessibility allows for flexible timing windows when chasing the right light or waiting for specific weather patterns. The open geography also provides plenty of room for safe flight paths and clear lines of sight.

Permitting and site access in this region are often more straightforward than in more congested urban centers. Local authorities and private landowners are generally practical about allowing production work when safety plans are clearly documented. This helps keep projects on schedule and reduces the administrative burden on the production team.

For projects that require advanced visuals, such as 360 video or specialized data capture, the local environment is well suited for testing and execution. The combination of industrial sites and natural landscapes provides a versatile backdrop for any commercial or documentary project.

Gear and options for drone services in Cheyenne, Wyoming\n\n

What we bring and when it is used

\n\nFor high end visual needs, we use the DJI Inspire 3, which provides cinema grade quality and precise control. This is the go to choice for drone services in Cheyenne when the project demands high dynamic range and interchangeable lenses. It works well for capturing the architectural details of the state capitol or the scale of local rail operations.\n\nWhen a project requires a specific cinema camera and lens, the Freefly Alta X heavy lift drone is the right tool. This aircraft can carry heavy payloads, allowing us to fly the same cameras used on the ground. This ensures a consistent look across all shots in a commercial drone services in Cheyenne production.\n\nFPV drones and cinewhoop drones offer a more immersive way to move through a space. These small, agile aircraft can fly through industrial structures or follow fast moving subjects with ease. We use them to create dynamic shots that traditional drones simply cannot achieve.\n\nIf the project needs live visuals, we can deliver a drone feed for streaming and broadcast environments. This is useful for events or real time site inspections where immediate feedback is necessary. We ensure the signal is stable and compatible with the production booth or streaming setup.\n\nFor smaller, more portable needs, the DJI Mavic 3 Cine and DJI Mavic 4 Pro are excellent choices. These drones are quick to deploy and can get into tight spaces while still delivering high quality video. They are ideal for quick site surveys or capturing B-roll in the city.\n\nWe also use a cable cam and motion control robot for shots that require absolute repeatability or must be filmed in areas where drones cannot fly. These tools provide a stable platform for complex camera moves. You can see more about these systems on our cable cam page.\n\nHaving the right drone equipment in Cheyenne means being prepared for the high winds and open spaces of the region. We select the aircraft based on the specific wind resistance needed for the day. For more details on our fleet, visit our equipment overview or contact us for a quote.

How a drone pilot and crew plan shoots in Cheyenne, Wyoming\n\n

What happens before the first flight

\n\nEvery project starts with a detailed intake to understand the goals and the specific shots required. We discuss the location, the desired look, and how the final files will be used. This initial phase ensures that the drone company in Cheyenne and the client are aligned on the vision before any gear is packed.\n\nSite access is a major focus during the planning stage, especially in an area with military and government presence like Cheyenne. We work with property owners and local authorities to secure the necessary permissions to fly. This includes checking for any temporary flight restrictions that might be in place for events or official business.\n\nAirspace checks are mandatory for every flight to ensure we stay clear of traffic from Cheyenne Regional Airport CYS and F.E. Warren Air Force Base. We use LAANC for quick authorizations when possible and coordinate directly with air traffic control if the mission is more complex. Safety is always the priority for a drone pilot in Cheyenne.\n\nWe establish clear safety boundaries on site to protect the crew and the public. This involves identifying landing zones and ensuring that the flight path does not cross over people or moving vehicles without proper waivers. A pre flight briefing covers these details so everyone on set knows the plan.\n\nTiming windows are chosen based on the position of the sun and the typical weather patterns of the high plains. We look for the best light to highlight the features of the site while avoiding the strongest winds of the day. This careful scheduling helps us get the best results in the most efficient way.\n\nA realistic range is $1,000 to $15,000, with pricing moving based on complexity, approvals, and deliverable volume. Factors like the size of the crew, the type of aircraft used, and any travel from nearby hubs will influence the final cost. FULL-SPECTRUM CAPABILITIES

Film & Television

Long-form production is the core of what we do. We've provided aerial units for feature films, limited series, episodic television, and documentary projects for major studios and streaming platforms. We integrate into your existing camera department and work directly with your DP. Every flight is planned, rehearsed, and executed with the same precision you expect from your ground crew.

Live Events & Broadcasts

Live is live. There's no second take. We provide real-time aerial video for concerts, sporting events, corporate events, and broadcast productions. Our systems deliver HD and 4K feeds directly to your production switcher with sub-100ms latency. We've covered events from 200-person gatherings to 80,000-seat stadium shows.

Commercials & Branded

Fast turnarounds, tight schedules, and clients watching monitors. We get it. Our drone crew has worked on national spots, regional campaigns, product launches, and branded content for agencies and in-house teams across the country. We show up prepared, move quickly, and deliver exactly what was storyboarded.

FPV Drone Work

FPV changes what's possible. Our custom-built FPV drones carry cinema cameras including the RED Komodo and fly through spaces that traditional drones simply can't reach. Through doorways, alongside vehicles, diving off structures, orbiting talent at speed. The footage intercuts with your A-cam because we're flying the same sensor and color science.

Agency & Creative Work

We work with creative agencies, production houses, and marketing teams who need aerial content for campaigns, social, web, and broadcast. If you've got a concept that involves a camera in the air, we can help figure out the best way to execute it.

We operate multiple drone platforms because no single aircraft is right for every job. Matching the right drone to the right shot is part of what we do.

DJI Inspire 3

Our primary platform for cinematic aerial work. Full-frame Zenmuse X9 sensor shooting 8K CinemaDNG RAW with interchangeable DL-mount lenses. Dual-operator control so one person flies while a dedicated camera operator frames the shot. This is the aircraft we reach for on the majority of film and television productions.

Heavy Lift Drones

When the shot requires a specific cinema camera in the air, we bring the heavy lift. Our platforms carry payloads up to 35 pounds, which means ARRI Alexa Mini, RED V-Raptor, Sony Venice, and full lens kits. Top-mount or bottom-mount gimbal options. If your DP wants the same camera in the air that they're shooting on the ground, this is how we do it.

FPV Drones

Custom-built for each job. Our FPV rigs carry RED Komodo and Blackmagic cameras and fly at speeds over 90 mph. Every build is purpose-designed for the specific shot, venue, and camera package. These aren't toy quads. They're cinema tools built to produce footage that matches your primary camera.

Mavic 3 Cine & Mavic 4 Pro

Compact platforms for scout work, B-cam angles, and fast deployment. The Mavic 3 Cine shoots Apple ProRes 422 HQ on its built-in Hasselblad camera with 46 minutes of flight time. We use these when speed and portability matter more than a large camera package.

Cable Cam & Tero

Not everything needs to fly. Our cable cam systems run cinema cameras on suspended cables for perfectly repeatable moves, and the Tero ground vehicle delivers tracking shots at speed across any terrain. No FAA restrictions, no battery limits.

WHY THE INDUSTRY'S BEST CHOOSE US

We don't just fly drones. We integrate into your production as collaborative cinematographers who happen to work from the sky. We've been doing this since 2011. That's over a decade of actual production work, not hobbyist flying.

01

IN Atmosphere we Trust

In that time, we've worked on projects for Marvel, Disney+, HBO, Apple TV+, Netflix, Paramount, NASA, National Geographic, and hundreds of other productions. We've flown on every type of set, in every kind of weather, in every kind of location. We carry full commercial insurance, every pilot holds current FAA Part 107 certification, and we handle all airspace authorizations so your production team doesn't have to think about it.

02

As the drone pilot flies

We fly across the entire United States with crews based in New Orleans, Atlanta, Miami, Austin, Los Angeles, and New York.  There is no place we cannot work in. We have a large crew list that works all the time.

03

Seamless On-Set Integration

What you won't get from us is excuses, unnecessary upsells, or a crew that doesn't understand how a film set works. We view like to have the right tool for the job, not overkill. We show up knowing the call sheet, ready to integrate into your workflow, and we stay until the shot is in the can.
