FPV Drone pilot
SHOTS THAT AREN'T POSSIBLE ANY OTHER WAY
Cinema cameras flying at 100 mph through spaces no other aircraft can reach.
Our FPV drone program delivers the most dynamic aerial footage in the industry. Custom-built rigs carrying RED Komodo, V-Raptor, and Blackmagic cameras. Piloted by operators with thousands of hours of flight time on real production sets.
What is FPV?
THIS ISN'T A DRONE WITH A CAMERA. IT'S A CAMERA THAT FLIES.
If you need an FPV drone pilot for a real production, you need more than someone who can fly fast. FPV is one of those things that looks easy when it’s done well. It isn’t. The speed, the line, the timing, the spacing, the way the camera moves through a scene without feeling wild or sloppy, that all comes from experience. It also comes from knowing what the shot is supposed to do.
That’s where we come in. Atmosphere Drones provides FPV drone pilot services for film, television, commercials, branded content, live events, music videos, and specialty shoots across the United States. We work with directors, DPs, producers, agencies, and production companies who need FPV drone work done at a high level and that fits the project.
A lot of people can fly FPV. Not many can do it on a real set.

Our FPV Fleet
TWO PLATFORMS. EVERY SCENARIO COVERED.
FPV drone work built for production
The difference with Atmosphere Drones is that we come from production. We are not treating FPV like a stunt or a novelty shot. We treat it like part of the camera department. That means we think about the move before we ever arm the drone. We think about the pacing of the shot, where the camera should be fast, where it should settle, how close it should get, what the subject is doing, and how the footage is going to cut with the rest of the piece.
That matters. A good FPV drone pilot is not just flying through space. They are building a shot. They are reading distance, timing, lens feel, background movement, and the energy of the scene all at once. When it is done right, the viewer does not think about the drone. They just feel the shot working.
That is what we aim for every time.
What we can do with FPV
FPV opens up shots that are hard or impossible to get any other way.
We can fly through buildings, around people, into tight spaces, over terrain, alongside vehicles, through event setups, across sets, and from exterior to interior in one move. We can chase action, do fast reveals, run low to the ground, stay tight on a subject, or build a one-take shot that carries the whole scene.

Some jobs need speed. Some need control. Some need both.
- fly-throughs
- one-take shots
- chase work
- reveals
- close-proximity movement
- interior FPV
- exterior FPV
- branded content
- commercial production
- film and TV work
- live event FPV shots
Not every FPV job needs the same setup
That is another place where experience matters. Some productions need a bigger FPV build that can carry a cinema camera and give the footage more weight and flexibility in post. Other jobs need a smaller setup that can move through tighter spaces and stay light, quick, and efficient.
We do both. The point is not to force every job into the same drone. The point is to use the right tool for the shot. That is part of what clients are hiring us for. They want a team that can look at the concept, the location, the movement, and the production needs, then tell them the best way to pull it off.
Atmosphere Drones for FPV
They hire us because this is real production work for us. We know how to prep a shot. We know how to work with a crew. We know how to communicate with the AD, the DP, the director, and the people on the ground who need to know exactly what is about to happen. We know when a shot needs more rehearsal and when it is ready to go. We know when to push and when to keep it simple.
And we know that the shot still has to look good. That part gets missed a lot with FPV. People focus on speed and aggression, but the real value is control. Smooth when it needs to be smooth. Fast when it needs to be fast. Tight when it needs to feel intimate. Big when the scene needs scale.
Platform 01
CINELIFT FPV
The CineLift is our heavy FPV platform. It carries cinema cameras like the RED Komodo, RED V-Raptor, and Blackmagic Pocket 6K at speeds up to 100 mph. The footage matches your ground unit's camera package in resolution, dynamic range, and color science. No compromise.
This is the rig we bring when the shot needs to intercut with an Alexa or RED on the ground. Same sensor, same color, same quality. Just moving at 100 mph through a space no dolly or crane could ever reach.
Platform 02
FPV DRONE
This is the rig that started it all. Small, fast, agile, and built for spaces where nothing else can go. Indoor flights through windows, doors, under furniture, through hallways and staircases. It's the aircraft you bring when the shot requires threading through tight spaces at speed.
Our pilots have years of experience flying in confined environments on live sets. Quick reflexes, deep spatial awareness, and the ability to nail a complex move on the first take. The footage has a cinematic feel that GoPro footage alone doesn't deliver because our pilots understand composition and movement.
What FPV Can Do
SHOTS THAT CHANGE THE SCENE
FPV isn't just a different angle. It's a different kind of shot entirely. Here's what our FPV team delivers on set.
FLY-THROUGHS
Through doorways, windows, hallways, and architectural spaces. Single continuous takes that pull the viewer through the environment.
CHASE SEQUENCES
Vehicles, athletes, horses, boats. Matching speed and staying locked on the subject at distances that would be dangerous for a manned camera.
PROXIMITY ORBITS
Circling talent, vehicles, or objects at close range and high speed. Creates a dynamic energy that static aerial shots can't match.
REVEALS & DIVES
Start behind a wall, over a ridge, or inside a building and burst into the scene. Dive off rooftops and pull up at the last moment.
INDOOR FLIGHTS
Studios, warehouses, arenas, restaurants, retail spaces. No FAA authorization needed. Our pilots navigate tight interiors with precision.
ONE-TAKE WONDERS
Complex single-take sequences that start outside, fly through a door, weave through a crowd, and end on a product or talent. All in-camera.
Why Our FPV Team
EXPERIENCE YOU CAN'T FAKE
FPV flying looks effortless when it's done right. That's because the hard part happened years ago, in the thousands of hours our pilots spent learning to fly before they ever stepped on a professional set.
Production Set Experience
Our pilots understand call sheets, blocking, safety meetings, and working with ADs. They don't just fly well. They work well on set. That matters more than most people realize.
Cinema Camera Integration
We build our FPV rigs to carry the same cameras your ground unit shoots with. RED Komodo, V-Raptor, Blackmagic. Same sensor, same color science, same post workflow. The footage intercuts without grading gymnastics.
Custom Builds for Every Job
We don't fly the same rig on every shoot. Every FPV build is purpose-designed for the shot, the venue, and the camera. Different props, different motors, different frames. The aircraft is engineered for the specific job.
Safety Protocols
FPV drones fly fast and close to people and objects. Every flight has a dedicated spotter, clear safety zones, and redundant kill switches. We carry full commercial insurance and have never had a safety incident on set.
Rehearsal and Planning
Complex FPV shots get rehearsed before the camera rolls. We walk the path, identify obstacles, plan the timing with your AD, and fly practice runs. When the director calls action, the move is dialed in.

FAQ
COMMON QUESTIONS
Is FPV footage stable enough for broadcast?
Yes. Our cinema FPV rigs use electronic stabilization combined with the camera's own IBIS (if available). The footage is broadcast-ready and intercuts cleanly with traditional camera coverage. For shots that need additional smoothing, we can stabilize in post.
Can FPV drones fly indoors?
Yes. Indoor flying is one of the biggest advantages of FPV. No FAA authorization is required indoors, and our smaller rigs are specifically designed for navigating tight interior spaces. We regularly fly inside studios, restaurants, arenas, retail spaces, and private residences.
How close can FPV drones fly to people?
Very close, but always within established safety protocols. Every shot involving talent proximity is planned in advance with clear safety zones, spotters, and communication with the AD. We carry full commercial insurance.
Do I need to provide the camera?
No. We provide the camera and all equipment. Our CineLift rigs come with RED Komodo, V-Raptor, or Blackmagic cameras. Our standard FPV rigs use GoPro HERO cameras. If you need a specific camera, let us know and we'll work it out.
How long does an FPV battery last?
FPV battery life ranges from 3 to 6 minutes depending on the rig, camera payload, and flying style. We carry multiple batteries and can turn around quickly between takes. For complex shots, we typically get 8 to 12 flights per hour.
Can you match our ground camera's look?
That's the whole point of the CineLift platform. By flying the same camera your DP is shooting on the ground, we match resolution, dynamic range, and color science. The footage drops into the same post workflow with no conversion needed.
